Frequently Asked Questions
Private Discuss is a comprehensive, cyber-secure collaborative solution featuring AES-256 and end-to-end encryption. A French-made, white-label platform, it can be deployed via SaaS or on-premise, with data stored on secure French servers or the infrastructure of your choice.
Beyond audio/video calls, instant messaging, and screen or file sharing (up to 5 GB per transfer), Private Discuss offers several unique features within a single solution:
- Video Conferencing: HD audio and video for up to 200 participants with an optimized encrypted user experience, including group channels and automated post-meeting reports.
- Webinars: Support for 4 hosts and up to 1,000 attendees (scaling to 5,000 by late June, with a target of tens of thousands this summer).
- Interactive Tools: Real-time voting and live Q&A sessions, specifically designed for general assemblies and evaluation meetings.
- Admin Console: An integrated dashboard for granular management of user permissions across the entire platform.
Unlike other tools, Private Discuss uses end-to-end encryption that is automatically activated by default for direct conversations, multi-channel chats, video conferences, and webinars. Only the people communicating can access the messages intended for them. Data encryption is performed on the user's client device before being sent to the server — the data is therefore protected from sender to recipient. The solution is, of course, GDPR compliant.
The encryption algorithms used are Curve25519, AES-256, and HMAC-SHA-256, ensuring complete confidentiality and security of exchanges and user data. Devices that do not support this encryption are not compatible with Private Discuss: security does not require universality.
Since its launch in February 2020, Private Discuss has had only one goal: to become the alternative to American solutions subject to regulations such as the Cloud Act and Patriot Act. That's why Private Discuss is entirely developed and hosted in France (OVH). A private, dedicated, customizable, encrypted, and fully configurable SaaS platform — Private Discuss's sole priority is the protection of your privacy.
With this 100% French solution and the consolidation of remote work and collaboration within a secure and modular cybersecurity environment, we aim to attract up to one million users by the end of the year. The security of our data and digital communications is a crucial societal issue. We want Private Discuss, powered by PIMAN Group and in particular PIMAN Security, the entity specializing primarily in cybersecurity, to become the leading videoconferencing and remote work solution in France and Europe.
